4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. Moroni 10:4-5

Day 68

Read: Helaman 1-3

Mark: Helaman 3:35

“If Satan can succeed in creating in us the pastime of arguing, quarreling, and contention, it is easier for him to bind us with heavier sins which can destroy our eternal lives.”
~ Elder Marvin J. Ashton

How can you avoid contention in your family and other relationships?

*This is a tough one. Growing up I always fought with my brother and sister.  I know I was the cause of a lot of contention growing up.  I don't want to be that person any longer and for the last while I have been making a conscious decision to step back when I get my feelings hurt, or if I am in a bad mood.  I also ask my Heavenly Father daily to help me be kind.  I have found that this does help.  If I am living my life in accordance with the gospel I am usually able to keep my contentious side at bay.  There are times when I am the instigator, but I am quick to apologize and correct my mistake.  I believe that it is NEVER too late to start your day over.
